Wokking in Shanghai

After a night out in Shanghai,
return by MRT,
and a stop at our local street vendor/cuisine.
Excellent snack !!

This was at the end of my stay in Shanghai.
My very good friend JS, had joined me for a 10 days stay in Shanghai, exploring the city that was in a raging construction race, with its dazzling shopping malls, busy streets, old city quarters and its famous Bund, with its musea, with its retired people practicing Tai Chi in the early morning.

We had an amazing time, met some nice people, and got to know Shanghai a bit.

Friday 21 February

First day Shanghai, very difficult first day, remember Barcelona ? City is overwhelming. But I ate something bad yesterday, and keep on burping, my stomach turning upside down.

My mind is very preoccupied with Drieke and I do not like it. By the end of the day I have walked enough and seen enough and my mind is milder.

Saturday 22 February

My mind continues to be very preoccupied with Drieke and I do not like it at all.

I had a good call with Stefan; I meet up with one of his friends. She has just flown in from Beijing for a 2 days work visit. I will meet her again on Sunday. With Max to the La Belle for DJ Jo Mills, hitting the dance floor. And relaxing. Soothing my mind.

Sunday 23 February

Have a call with Drieke. Good but long and again discussions on relation.

Shopping with Jackie, Lion, and this other friend from 15:00 till 23:00, the longest shopping bonanza in my life !!;

Arrival in Shanghai

Wake up with 2 snoring Chinese in my room, the are sharing the other bed. Where is the time that foreigners where guided to Tourist only Hotels ?

To the airport, 4 hrs flight to Shanghai, where we arrive splendid sun shine, 10 degrees. Jiang is still taking care of me. He guides me to a bank, calls Jackie for the apartment. I though Jackie was a boy but it turns out she is a girl. He offers me a taxi to Shang Zong Park, at the apartment blok;

Have a pleasant call with Drieke.

I rent the appartment

We go and look for buying a bed. Apartment is from her uncle, she rents out the rooms. Finally she decides on a inflatable bed handy for taking with her in future moves.

Get an sms from JS about coming to Shanghai from 1 till 10 March. Get a pleasant mail from Sigrid and Pieter. And an email from my former DI director in Singapore, to meet him next week. Interesting ... !?!

Jackie buys me a GSM card.
