Gilles is drawn to the worlds of water and seas, and life therein. Tom, while focused on intercultural dialogue, is intrigued by desert landscapes. Both environments are worlds apart, yet are very similar for their vastness, desolateness, fragility and limited human presence.

Besides their different areas of interests and works, they started exploring for a fusion of their works and decided to do a joint project. Combining environments, techniques and materials, embedding the photos with its themes into the resin material and framing them in a steel structure, results in a new eeriness, desolateness and fragility for these images and for their centuries old history captured in multiple ways. For Tom and Gilles it is another expression of intercultural dialogue.
